More Wiimote-related damage, just in time for the holidays

I officially don't get these. Do people swing the Wii Remote and then let go, leaving the controller to hang on by the strap? I haven't played all Wii launch titles so I don't know what's required, but if it's not part of a particular game, why do people do this?
